The new Macbook Air (Big Sur) won't recognize my Kobo ereader. It is recognized by my old Macbook Air running High Sierra. Kobo's advice was to reset the reader which I did but no difference. Has anyone experienced this and hopefully found a solution?

Using an USB-hub with USB2 instead of USB3 connections worked.
So do not use a simple conversion dongle between USB-C and USB-3 - it needs to be a multiport USB hub with (black, not blue) USB-2 connections.

I'm having a similar problem with my Kobo Aura One and M1 Macbook Air running Big Sur. The device will connect, charge, and show in in the Kobo app, but doesn't appear in Finder.
