Can't hear received calls on iPhone 12 Pro Max

I have the same issue but I am using the 11. It is very frustrating when I have to call someone back and it works fine. It is like I have not even answered the phone since callers are able to leave voicemail even though I answered the phone. Did not have this issue until the last iOS update. When can we expect and update to fix this.

Hi, I have an I phone 12 Mini and am suffering from the same problem. Has anyone resolved the issue? I have just gone through a diagnostic test with apple support. They could not figure out what was causing this, therefore recommended taking the phone to an apple store. In the UK, all stores are closed due to Covid, so this is not really helpful.

Any thoughts/help?

I am having the exact same issue with my 12 mini.

Incoming calls only. I have to hang up and call them back.

Already went to the genius bar. They couldn’t find anything. Replacement is the last resort for me as I want a replacement device after spending CAD 2000 for my iPhone. I hope they come with a fix soon otherwise I am never gonna buy an apple device again and encourage others not to.

Same thing is happening to me! Brand new phone and ridiculously useless. Can’t hear incoming calls and can’t fix the issue. I’m so disappointed- I’ve been with Apple since they started iphoning - but I’m ready to turn.

I’m waiting for a miracle or useful update.

So turning off 5G worked for a few days but now the problem is back with avengence. Simply I can’t operate my business like this so I’m taking my phone back for a refund and sadly will have to buy another product.

When answering incoming calls there is no sound in my speaker and the caller can’t hear me. The issue started Wednesday 3/3/21. When calling back there are no issues. I have had the device for 1 week exactly.

I have tried to reboot the device, turning of bluetooth, resetting the network and a lot of other stuff. Nothing works.

A have seen that Apple support suggest removing the screen protector. Please elaborate on how that is to help resolve the problem as it is only incoming calls that are affected.

What can be the issue?

Please Apple - Be serious when responding. I expect your answer to nach the quality of your products

I have the 12 Pro and this has been happening to me since December. I’ve tried restarting. Hopes upgrades would fix it, it hasn’t. I’ve reset everything. It’s obvious this is a widespread issue, I wish Apple would address the bug. If a phone can’t even function as a phone, what is the point?

I’ve got exact same issue. I put my sim in my old handset and incoming calls work 100%.

This is ridiculous why no fix in 3 months! It’s not some minor bug, this is a phone that doesn’t work. I’ve not seen one response from Apple on this thread. This is appalling service.

that solution works only for a few days.... then it will do it again... but it will have to turn it off and on again about 10 times...

It happened with my iPhone 6s after using it for more than 2 years. At first, I couldn’t hear when I make calls or receive calls. After trying for 2-3 times, I could hear it again. There was no fault in my speaker or mic.

so I changed to iPhone 11 Pro Max and the same problem is now happening. It’s only been 1.5 years. We had to pay a lot of money for iPhone and wtf is that?

I just recently bought the new iPhone pro Max 12 and I can’t hear calls coming through anymore! It worked fine the first 5 days and now nothing! I can’t hear person speaking whether I’m on earphones, or on the loud speaker. I have to call everyone back. It’s so Annoying!

Pro Max 12! It’s not what I expected... except for great photos and video, the 7plus was Easier and Quicker to Navigate etc

Also I had to switch off the Facial Recognition as it took too too long to activate my phone !!!!
