Apple TV 4K 14.3 No longer plays music vids full screen

Yes it worked for me. Not in front of my Apple TV now but from memory it was in General, System, software updates or something similar. Mine was set to update automatically but was still on 14.3 so I updated manually to 14.5. Next playlist I played was all in full screen. Although I did have an odd experience when I went to another playlist later and the screen started to flick through the tracks very quickly in the old odd middle of the screen format but without actually playing them. I resolved that by pressing menu a couple of times then going back in to it. Worked fine after that.

This issue has been resolved in tvOS 14.5 which was released this week.

It took way too long (over 4 months) for Apple to fix this, but "better late than never" I suppose.

The only 'fix' I have found is changing music videos to a TV show (make sure to give the TV Series a name before clicking okay). You an then build TV playlists, but its a solution that defeats the purpose. I don't know why someone thought displaying music videos at 1/9 normal size unless you click on them was a good idea.

I have had exactly the same issue for the same period of time.

I play music videos I have downloaded from various sources, from an itunes playlist via my pc , home-shared to my apple TV. linked to my TV.

After an update most of my music videos play as illustrated... in a small box in the centre of the screen. It's almost as if the videos are playing in 'preview mode'. I can get them to play full screen individually by pressing menu then play...but that's hardly a solution!

It is unbelievably annoying and despite the fact the issue was raised over a month ago Apple have not offered any explanation or solution. Cmon Apple, deal with this!

I downloaded the Updated beta version today on one of my Apple TV’s and it has cured the problem!

Same here. I can press the menu button and then push the middle of the touch pad to get it to full screen, but come on, who thought this was a necessary option? It defeats the purpose of the playlist that I have to interact with the remote after every video. I might have to change my music videos to TV episodes now just so I can easily watch them in fullscreen. I sadly can't recall the last time I watched videos, but it was probably before the upgrade since I didn't have them running during the kids' school break.

I'm seeing this issue on my Apple TV 4 and Apple TV 4K, both running tvOS 14.3.

My Apple TV 3 (v7.6.2) is not experiencing this issue.

It's clearly a tvOS 14.3 bug/feature, that needs to be fixed or given the option to disable.

A temporary work around is to mirror your computer screen to the Apple Tv. You can what you are watching with a bluetooth keyboard and mouse.

I spoke to support yesterday and after sending in video clips of the issue they got back to me and said they are aware of the problem and it is on the list to be fixed .

Unfortunately, I don't think Apple actively monitor these discussions, so any plea here to fix it will be unheard.

If you're affected by this bug I strongly encourage you to report it to Apple Support. The more people who complain, the more seriously they might take this issue.

No, a fix for this still hasn't been released. The current version of tvOS is 14.4 which still has the problem. I'm not sure what the heck Apple are doing with 14.5 but this is taking way too long to fix. It's now been well over 3 months since they broke it.

Same problem. It’s a screw up with the latest update. Apple needs to fix.
