The A1102 would have been the adapter originally available for iPod classic but as both A1102 and A1205 are USB chargers rated for 5V at 1A either should be able to charge an iPod classic or any other device that can adequately charge at 1A. iPads really need to charge at a higher rate so that is when the first 10W chargers came out. I've a feeling some models in the classic line won't charge on an iPad compatible charger.

Possibly the difference between systems that are normally earthed (e.g. UK) and those that are not (e.g. US). Or that is one of the differences between the two models that have otherwise similar power ratings. If you bought them at a reputable outlet there is no reason to assume they're not genuine. If you paid less than retail in a dodgy market stall there would be more reason to be concerned. Either way this type of equipment can fail at some point. Hopefully it either happens while you are in warranty, or not until you've had plenty of years of use.

An Apple Lightning to USB cable has 'Designed by Apple in California' and either 'Assembled in China', 'Assembled in Vietnam' or 'Indústria Brasileira' on the cable about seven inches from the USB connector. You'll see a 12-digit serial number at the end of this text.

My cable has the text but on the other side not near the USB connector?

Distinct, synonym for different.

You've noted the marking is at a different end for your 30-pin cable. Apple's Identify counterfeit or uncertified Lightning connector accessories - Apple Support article explains where to find the markings on the Lightning cable, not the 30-pin cable. Since they are not the same thing there is no reason to assume the details should be the same.
