iphone 12 pro max battery health degrading

So my pro max has been getting warm browsing and that drains its battery like crazy talking 85-76% in 10-15 mins something isn’t right here it’s also down to 94% battery health now

It looks like you might have a faulty battery. I also have the iPhone 12, and my battery is going strong at 99%.

This is definitely unusual, and sound like a hardware problem.

I think that's the latest iOS recalibrating how the OS detect battery health. 249 cycles with 4% drop is actually really good. Many of us have 100 cycles and battery health dropped to 90% or below.

Again, a drop of about 1% per month is normal.

100% - 6 (months) = 94%.

Normal.

Then you’re doing much better than average; a drop of about 1% per month is normal.

Again…

Unless it drops to 80% before your 12 month warranty is up (if it does, Apple will replace it for free) don't worry about it.

Apple just released this feature in the past year or so!!! Because of that people are just seeing the battery health drop and freaking them out mine is at 99% and got it day 1!! We usually don’t see this besides the actual battery drain to charge it so it’s freaking people out

Iphone 12PM battery sucks compared to my previous 11PM, XS & X ....it’s 95% after 5.5mths... base on the current rate of 1% drop every 1-2 wks it will hit around 82% after 1 yr so Apple doesn’t have to replace the battery since their disclaimer is 80% after 1 yr

My 12 pro is 5 months old, battery health was 100% till March 2021, then dropped to 99% in late march, 98% on 4/4 , 97% on 17/4, then 96% on today 24/4. very rapidly. Used optimized charge, never use wireless charge. Use iphone charger. Used to charge whenever possible and on cable even when playing games or movie before March. Advised to stop charging while playing ,avoid charging overnight and take off from charger after 100%, the battery health even dropped faster. My X was 100% after 1y, XS was 94% at 1y and 87% at 2y. This 12 pro sucks!!!! Apple genius bar has checked, obviously normal battery as standard answer.

i used to charge overnight since iphone4. Apple asked me not to charge overnight as this may damage the battery as it will increase unnecessary charging cycle loss at sleeping time . I tried once, then result was like this , 6% drop without reason

Coconut and apple diagnostic app showed 59 cycles only but the health dropped rapidly in terms of week lately . Just 1.5 M with rapid drop of health from 100% to 96%. It is unlikely that it could have sudden increase of charging cycles in 1M.

The bottom line is when your phone is nearing one year old, take it in to an Apple Store and see if they believe the battery is worthy of being replaced under warranty.

• If it is, it will be.
• If it isn't, they won't.

That is the only action you can take.

No, it is not meant to charge it overnight, in order to keep your battery health maintained you have to keep your charge between 40 to 80%, avoid hot degree places, don’t play high graphics games, use less intensive apps and use original charger from the company itself.
