Will the 12w USB power adapter charge my iPod Classic?
Will the 12w USB power adapter MD836B/B Model number A1401 charge my ipod classic 160gb (late 2009) ? If not then which model is the correct and compatible one to use ?

The iPod Classic did not come with a power adapter originally. Only the headphones and the 30 pin to USB cable.
It could be charged by connecting to a computer via USB, or a 5 watt iPhone charger of the time.
Later when iPads where released, it could use the 10watt charger that came with them.
The current 12 watt charger replaced the 10 watt charger in newer iPads, and can still be used to charge older devices.
No idea.
Probably a stock photo error when they were making the boxes.
I hear , it comes with both ac adapters both for the UK & USA.
Why do they come as two separate pieces as opposed to one piece?
Precisely so you can change the connector type should you need to and not need to buy an entire adapter again.
I understand, makes sense. Do you also have an ipod classic or just like helping out on the forums?
Well it wasn't listen as contents in the box and not what came in it?

“Originally” was 2001, not 2009. And the capacity of the original was 5 GB.
I have a 2005 iPod classic a.k.a iPod Video, but yes, I also like to help out in the forums. and no, it did not come with a charger.
Neither did my 2007 iPod Touch. I have the boxes to prove to.
The 12w seems to work. Although now my ipod is fully charged so need to wait until battery goes down to charge.
