Printing error Stopped - 'Filter' failed

This is a continuation of this thread: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/8284346

Having recently got a new Mac with OS 11, my Brother Printer was not working. (In having to migrate my old Mac to the new Mac, I had also upgraded the old Mac to OS11 and my old Mac was able to still print.) So after installing and uninstalling the drivers, powering on and off numerous times and unable to get anymore headway, I went to Brother's website and directly installed the printer driver. Low and behold, during the install process, it seems that "ROSETTA 2" is required for the printer driver to function. I CAN PRINT NOW! :)

This is the explanation that Apple support gave me:

"Rosetta 2 enables a Mac with Apple silicon to use apps built for a Mac with an Intel processor. Based on this, it could be the driver for the printer that actually needs the rosetta if it was only configured for intel processors."

Hopefully this helps anyone else who cannot print with a similar error message.

I have an Epson printer, but had the same trouble printing from my new Mac with OS 11. I also went to the Epson site to download my printer drivers directly since nothing else had worked. The first thing the download said was that I needed to install Rosetta first. All I did was execute the Rosetta installation and then I tested printing again before re-installing the printer drivers and it worked! Thanks for posting your experience!
