Video audio has mysterious static sound when playing recorded video using Camera app.

I tried talking to an apple worker, they ran a diagnostic check & everything shows it’s working. He recommended I go to apple & have them do a factory restart! I haven’t gone yet, but I’ll let you know if that ends up working.

I was having the same issues and did what someone in this thread said and it fixed the problem.

Go to settings, camera, record video, uncheck 1080 HD and recheck, then go try a test video recording and see if no static exists. In my case, the static was gone.

I have the iphone 12pro max & literally having the same problem. I tried updating, tried changing the video settings.. nothing. My phone is practically brand new & never been in water or anything! WHY😭

I’m having the same issue. I’ve had this issue since I got the iPhone 12 Pro a few months ago. I’ve tried everything nothing helps. This is definitely an issue with the camera app. I’ve also downloaded other camera apps from the App Store and the sound is crystal clear when recording video. The native camera app is garbage.

I did an update...kept the laptop away from the phone when recording and THEN I got a new iPhone 12 and I have not any problems since!!

But there are other people on this posting that have had similar issues with brand new iPhone 12's sooooo. Who knows.

I think I have to send my iPhone to be fixed also, aim from Ecuador so it’s a bit harder here but I managed to find a authorized apple shop, I think the microphone is damaged or disconnected.

Sorry, the static is still in the beginning of videos sometimes. I tried turning Noise Cancelation on and off. I give up.

I’m having this exact same issue. When recording video from the camera app it is encoding static to the playback file. It’s so weird!

I am having the exact same issues on my iPhone 12. Works fine during FaceTime and voice recording app but issues when recording video through the camera app. Full static and jumping play head

Same!! But for me it is camera app video and voice memos. It records fine when I’m shooting video using Instagram stories, but not through the camera app or voice memos. It sounds like I’m at the bottom of a well and an old film reel is playing in the background.
