Embedded CID images in email instead of attachment

Updating to iOS 14.3 has resulted in me not being able to attach an image from my camera roll. It automatically embeds itself into the body of the email as a CID.

I am an artist and sending images is part of my professional life. I need to be able to send 2MB + images as attachments to galleries, exhibitions, and clients.

This is beyond frustrating.

Apple’s reply that ‘this behaviour is to be expected’ is extraordinary. What does that actually mean?

I have asked a very experienced IT professional and he couldn’t see a fix usable on an iphone.

Get this fixed Apple. PDQ.

Hi Peter,

Thank you for your time.

After another suggestion I now realise that if I left click on the embedded e-mail image it allows me to Download it and then I can export the image to a computer file.

From there I can attach it to an email.

BUT the embedded file is a CID , which is thumb nail size - so useless to me as an artist.

Galleries, Opportunities etc request 2MB + for catalogues, PR and clients.

This might however be of help to someone else.

I would like to try your workaround but don't know how to make/ find a PDF on my iphone.

I will research.
