For some reason my iMessage just started not syncing to my MacBook Air. I can 'send' iMessages but not receive on my MacBook Air.
MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.15
I think I may have solved it.
iPhone>Setting>Messages>Switch OFF iMessage>Switch back on>Select Send & Receive Addresses
Mac>Message Preferrences>iMessage Tab> Sign Out/Sign In>Select where you can be reached at
After this I am able to initiate new Texts on iPhone and it syncs with Mac. Older messages have not synced. Crossing my fingers this continues to work.
Thank you for this response. I could not figure out the issue but once I verified that all of the "you can be reached at" options were the same on all devices, everything synched instantaneously.
Stupid fix, but signing out of BOTH for me, then restarting both, then signing in, fixed it.
Happened via a brand new 2021 MB Pro and iPhone 12 mini.

I had this problem as well.
Settings > Messages > Text Message Forwarding > Toggle MacBook Air (Mac) to on.
Tried this twice and it did not work. My text seems to sync but not any attachments/images.
Any suggestions?

Ditto. Maddening. Although I received one imessage on Mac among several sent.
Surprise! It seems to have resolved, although I swear I just retried the same things. And restarted both Mac and iPhone.
