cbs live tv through subscription glitchy

Curious if anyone else has had this issue. I had the CBS All Access as a stand alone app but saw the Showtime/ CBS bundle so I switched- obviously now we watch through the Apple TV + app.

When watching live TV, watching sports ALL of the games, it freezes then kicks out. The screen looks looks like it is scrambled. We are having to press play at least 3 times in the first half of a football game. I want to say it stops being funky after a couple of hours.

Honestly I don't think we had this much of an issue with the stand alone, but I could be wrong.

CBS is no help at all. Anyway, I cannot update anything and have went through restarting the box and router etc.

Am I cray cray or is this a common thing?
