A vertical greenish line appears on my MacBook Pro

There could be a hardware issue, kindly check with Apple diagnostics tool

Vertical artifacts are much more likely to be displays problems.

The picture is built by stacking successive horizontal rows of pixels on the display to build a picture, and issues with cables and adapters would likely damage that horizontal data so that it would no longer "line up".

Only the display itself knows anything about "Vertical".
