Chrome remote desktop not working on Mac

I am trying to connect to my office computer using Chrome Remote Desktop. I can connect fine using my iphone, both on 4G and my home wifi. When i try to use my Macbook to connect using wifi it does not work and i get an error saying 'The remote computer is offline'. If i turn off my wifi and hotspot my phone to my macbook and then try connect to the remote desktop it works and i can get in. The issue seems to be my macbook. Could there be some sort of permissions on my mac not allowing a connection to a remote computer? Please assist

Macbook Pro 2016

MacOS High Sierra

Thanks
