what if there isn't a software update to click listed in the system preferences

I received a warning stating that my Mac hadn't been updated for over 600+ days. I went online to see what I could do and it stated to go to apple menu hit system preferences then click onto software update. It isn't there. Is there anywhere else I can check.

iMac 21.5″, OS X 10.10

Back up your data, check your applications for compatibility, and depending on which iMac model you have, download High Sierra, Catalina, or Big Sur through the links provided.
