How do I use a 2016-17 iMac as a monitor for an HP Elitebook laptop?

You don't. iMacs are computers, they are not displays for other devices. If you HP needs an external monitor you need to buy one.

iPad Pro m2 stage manager to external monitor I’m having difficulty connecting my new iPad Pro M2 to an external monitor to use stage manager. My external monitor is mirroring my iPad instead of being an additional work space to move windows into. I’m using an Anker 6-1 hub to connect the HDMI to HDMI cable from the monitor to the iPad Pro. Any idea why I’m only mirroring the content?
