Apple TV pause/play problems

Problem started after software update to 14.3.

When pausing a movie, the device freezes when you try to press play to resume the movie.

Tried reset, restart, & update software to 14.4.

I guess Apple was so busy adding video ads and data collection, they compromised on functionality.

If anyone has a fix, other than NEVER UPDATE your software, please share.

Are you watching movies from Apple TV+ or a different app like YouTube or Prime Videos? If you can, let's delete and reinstall the app to see if that helps:


  • Apple TV: Highlight the app on the Home screen, then press and hold the Touch surface until the app jiggles. Press Play/Pause, then select Delete. Open the App Store and redownload the app. Some apps require subscriptions for activation. If you can't activate the app or you don’t remember your sign-in information, contact the app developer.

If an app unexpectedly quits, stops responding or won’t open
