“Hide Alerts” keeps coming back!

This has been happening to me in a very important family group imessage. They are both ICE contacts, so that hasn’t mattered. I unpinned it from the top, that didn’t change anything. I’ve restarted my phone, nothing. When I turn it off, if they text once I read the message it goes back to hiding the alerts. It’s extremely frustrating and I literally can’t delete this thread and I don’t want to reset my entire phones setting.

Apple you better figure this out soon. Nearly 3 months of this crap is unacceptable.

I chimed in on this thread a long time ago, as this was happening, is still happening, to me. After reading all these, I have a feeling it might have something to do with the conversation being muted when you auto backup on ICloud. From then on out, every time you backup, it reverts to being muted. Just a thought. I could be wrong.

I am also having the same issue. Hide alerts keeps coming back, even after I’ve deleted the message thread and restarted my phone.

I wonder if the new update that’s out 14.4.1 will fix it? I hate doing updates so soon after they come out though.

I guess a resolution cannot be found for this issue/glitch? Happy to know that I am not crazy & alone (thinking that I KNOW that I disabled the ‘hide alert’ yet it’s back..again and again!)

This is exactly what happened with the last update it corrected the “Hide Alert” problem.

Perfect, it was so annoying and frustrating, it felt like we had no control.

I am having the same issue. I have tried for multiple days changing the setting in both the information tab and through sliding it to the left and turning off the “bell” icon. I have tried restarting my phone and deleting the thread.

Same thing is happening to me with only 1 thread that I did turn off earlier last week. I am constantly "unmuting" it. I also have the latest iOS 14.4 update, which seems to have a lot of bugs with it. I feel that update fixed nothing and added more problems.

I disabled alerts for a thread because of too many notifications early in the morning when I was trying to snooze, cut it back on when I woke, later that day they were disabled again. It’s been the same song and dance now for a week or so.

This is happening to me with two of my messages that I have hid the alerts on. I have done everything I can think of and everything Apple has suggested...... A real solution from Apple would be appreciated.

I’m having the same issue as well. I’ve tried hard resetting, as well as un-hiding the thread both through my iPhone as well as my Apple Watch.. no matter what I do, it continues to become muted by itself all over again.

My iPhone X disables the alerts but my Mac and iPad don’t have an issue. I do have the DND set for the people seem to have insomnia and text at 2am. So not sure if there is a correlation there. I did have an odd issue earlier this year where phone calls and texts would always be silenced from people with androids. I did a factory reset to fix it. Now there isn’t any discrimination every one is silenced randomly.

I have the same exact issue for a group in iMessage. About a month ago I selected “hide alerts” one day for the group and then but set it back to “show alerts” the next day but it always reverts back to hidden alerts denoted by the crescent on the message thread and lack of notifications. It is frustrating.

Same EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING issue on a fully up-to-date iPhone 11. I now miss messages because I muted a conversation ONE TIME and now it always eventually resets the thread to muted no matter how - or how many times - I unmute it.
