On a Windows PC - Use iTunes:

Use an external hard drive that is alter 1.5 times to internal storage. That way, you can create more updates in time to come.

  1. Go Here: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support
  2. Scroll to: How to back up with your computer
  3. As it reads: on a PC, open iTunes
  4. Proceed form there as necessary

Important: Keep a handwritten, hardcopy of your password, and store it somewhere that only you are knowledgeable of, and only you have access to.

What kinds of problems are these?

Clean Up Space:

A. Clean TV and Music Libraries:

Remove all unneeded files from your TV and Music Libraries. Full-Movies take up 2-4GB typically, and a bunch of those would take up a load of storage, ideally. So, if you have any movies that are not needed, then delete them.

B. Clear Temporary Internet Files:

Clear your Temporary Internet Files (Cookies & Cache) of Safari:

  • Cookies perform remembrance of certain site-entered data.
  • Cache keeps a snapshot of the last time you visited a site.

Go Here: Clear the History and Cookies from Safari on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch - Apple Support

C. Clean "Other" Storage:

Clear "Other" storage. This includes items that are unneeded and just junk (i.e. caches). So view your storage usage, cleaning up "Other" - Learn More Here: How to Clear "Other" in your iPhone's Storage - Use Backup
