Web pages covered by text-only version in Safari in new IPad Air 14.4

When I load a webpage such as https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7767808 in Safari on my new iPad Air running iOS 14.4, I see the page correctly for an instant as it is being covered by a text-only version that comes down like a curtain from the top.


The above page loads correctly in Chrome.

The page may be displayed in Reader View. If so, the aA icon at the left of the Address Bar will be highlighted:




Tao the aA icon to reveal the Action Menu, then tap Hide Reader View:
