Auto mounting LaCie SSD not working

when plugging in (it has a USB 3.1 Gen 2 / Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C connector) I hear tone, and can see it in manager, but doesn't mount with a drive letter. Can manually assign one but does not retain it on restart. Again this in a fresh new reinstall with updated boot camp drivers and Windows 10, all was working before reinstall.

I've reinstalled Ventura and on the first boot the hard drive appears and operates normally but after a restart it dissappears again. very frustrating! It operated fine under Ventura 13.1. any hints? I can't figure out how to go back to 13.1 and Apple support says they don't support that

2012 Mac Mini - external ssd I am trying to use an external ssd in a HAGiBiS model MC25 hub. The hub has a USB C connector so I have tried an adapter to USB A, a UBS C to USB a cable, and a USB C to dual USB A cable - no success. The hub front USB connector ports all are fine so is there something I am missing? I have tried with 2 different ssd units (WD and Samsung) so I am a little confused. I don't see them if I plug this into a PC either so is it a "mounting issue" or "format" thing? Thanks

LaCie external HDD no longer recognised My LaCie drive (2TB Rugged Thunderbolt) has been working fine connected via Thunderbolt 2 (the old squarish shaped connector) to my 2015 IMAC 5K. When this broke beyond economic repair, I have just now purchased a new 2020 IMAC 5k and am trying to connect the drive to it via the new Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) connexions on the IMAC. The drive is not recognised. I tried using a new branded Apple Thunderbolt 3 cable rather than the inbuilt one that comes with the LaCie drive with no success either. If I connect the drive via the LaCie provided USB cable (USB-C on the LaCie to USB-3 on the IMAC, the drive IS recognised but obviously I want to use the faster Thunderbolt connection. When the drive is attached via USB-C, the IMAC system report says no devices are connected. I have no other USB-C devices to test with the IMAC. Is there a compatibility issue at play here or are the USB-C ports on the IMAC faulty? .
