I turn on Hide Alerts for a group chat during my work hours, however, now I can’t turn off the DND. I have toggled off Hide Alerts for this group chat multiple times but every time I receive a message the toggle is turned back on. When the group is silent the toggle remains off.
Things I’ve done:
I have restarted the phone.
I have toggled “Hide Alerts” off backed up my phone to iCloud.
The issue still continues
Thank you! I tried my iPad and that didn't change anything, but then I checked on my Apple Watch (which I didn't even realize had the option to Hide Alerts for specific threads) and turned it off there. Now it's been working fine all day! I appreciate the help!

Do you have an IPad or other Apple device that you receive your messages on? I found that the issue was my iPad. I went to Messages on my iPad, toggled “Hide Alerts” off on the group chat, then backed my iPad up to iCloud. This resolved to the issue for me!

I'm having this same problem. I toggled on "Hide Alerts" on a group conversation only once. A few hours later I turned off "Hide Alerts" but now for the past couple of weeks it continually goes back to "Hide Alerts" no matter how many times I've turned it off. I've restarted my phone and that hasn't helped.
It is now toggled on again...
