This is a brand new M1 Mac Mini (two days old). I cannot open terminal, when I try I get a window that says "Terminal is locked". My password does not work.
I cannot work without terminal, so this is obviously unacceptable. Please see the attached image for more info.
How do I solve this? Thank you.
Edit: My account is an Admin, and the only account on the computer, so that's not the problem.
The problem has been solved. There was an app (applocker) installed onto the computer from the Mac App Store that blocked opening the terminal.

I would caution everyone against using this app. Never install it. Without my knowledge, it was installed by a user, and caused a nightmares worth of problems.
I'm surprised Apple allows this on the Mac App Store, it is clearly buggy, and causes major damage to the system.

No I can't get into terminal. As far as I am aware the M1 doesn't support Single User Mode. If you know how to get into Single User Mode on the M1 mac, please let me know.
I have already done a reinstall. It did not accomplish anything, the problem happened again.

Thanks, I tried that, but I am not sure what to fix after I'm in recovery mode. There doesn't seem to be any documentation.
So, you still can't get into Terminal?
Did you try Single User Mode yet as in that link?
Might try a reinstall, which fixes 90% of problems.
