PowerBeats Pro shutting down with battery

When using my Powerbeats Pro, the left earpiece shuts down randomly, even if it shows more than 80% battery on my iPhone. This only happens with the left one, the right one works normally.

How is this marked as solved? This isn't solved. I don't see any response that tells me how to fix my Powerbeats other than buying a new set or earbud and they aren't old enough for that to be a reasonable suggestion. This is disappointing and it really makes me question why I went with the apple product/s in the first place.

I have the same issue for a few months now. The issue started very shortly after the expiry of guarantee of the device (please prove I am wrong about this conspiracy). Left earpiece is shutting down whenever it wants to shut down. Sometimes it takes longer (max 30 min), sometimes- after few minutes. When it shuts, I check the iphone for battery, and it shows 50 %, after that I add it to the box and it instantly shows that earphones are good with 99 %. Therefore I see that the left one dies but WITH charged battery. Pretty sure it is firmware, not the battery.. And this happens no matter which device I use - OS, Windows, TV, laptop or iphone.

Please help APPLE!

Apples lack of addressing this problem is sickening.. The product is faulty and should be fixed or replaced by warranty laws.

Take a few minutes and go into different sites and rate Powerbeats as low as you can. Shortly explain the problem. If many enough of us actually do it, apple would of course address this problem and fix it as soon as possible to not lose more customers.

I have this exact problem as well. Right earbud disconnects and sounds the battery warning at exactly 55%. However, it's not consistent. It happens frequently but seems to be associated with the microphone, at least anecdotally. Yesterday I watched 4 hours of Netflix on my phone, no issue, headphones were about 67% afterwards. This morning, spend 24 minutes on a Teams call on my 16" MBP (muted but the mic is 'active') right earbud dead at 55%. This isn't a battery issue. It's a firmware/bt stack issue for sure. Something weird is going on.

Copy/paste of my comments at reddit:

update:

didn't work, left bud went off after 10 minutes of music and less than a minute phone call; too bad because these things are have the best sound of any true wireless headphones i own.

update: placed the left one in the case and it showed 100% battery immediately, gonna try again with no phone call

update: left bud went off after 7 mins. of music

BTW, It's great that my post is still active with people trying to figure the problem out, but sad that apple just doesn't seem to care.

I've been having the same problem this year. I thought it was because my beats were older so I bought a BRAND NEW pair. Now I'm having the same problem with the new pair. The right ear bud dies extremely quickly and the left one will still be at 98% charge with the case at 100% charge.

Since the new pair is under warranty, PLEASE open a support ticket with Apple and ask to have it escalated as soon as possible.

In my experience, even one level of escalation is an entirely different class of service and odds of getting a fix are greatly increased.

They’re definitely under warranty. People like you bringing in products under warranty is the key to fixing this. Since it’s likely going to be a firmware issue, you’ll have to keep bringing them in and getting new ones over and over. You’ll probably have to start demonstrating the problem since they’ll try to talk you out of it. Don’t accept that.

Apple needs to do something about this, the same exact thing is happening to me. I contacted apple support and had to go into the store for an appointment, just to be told that they will need to charge $90 a piece to send it out for analysis, to a total cost of $270. From here they told me that the price for new beats is cheaper and it would be better to just buy a new pair. They won't provide any credit for the headphones, and will only take them back to recycle them.

I gave up and just got the AirPods Pro over Black Friday. Needed new headphones anyways, couldn’t go wrong w some of the sale prices.

Also, has anybody noticed that our headphones are breaking right around the time their successors the beats fit pro launched😳😳😳😳

I'm having

the same issue. Pretty sure it started with that last update. Not sure why no

Apple rep has chimed in here to discuss it and provide a possible solution. It

certainly isn't a battery issue as everyone is reporting it shuts down at

exactly 55%. Pop it back in the case, then you can wear it again. Not such a

big deal sitting at my desk, albeit inconvenient, its not so convenient carrying this

big case around the gym waiting for the ear bud to stop working.

APPLE!

What's up with the firmware?!?!?!

The fact about 300+ users have this issue despite us restating that no solutions work; Really signifies a lack of attention and understanding that this has to be a major defect. How come all of us only have 1 earbud that drains out while the other is working at the desired 8 hours. This is not acceptable by any means and a big hassle for the premium that we pay for apple's products.

Yep. They don’t even have a way of reporting bugs for Powerbeats. Just for AirPods. They’re clearly a second (or third) class citizen within the Apple org chart. Even apple’s own products sometimes don’t receive all the support they deserve. But Beats products are the red headed step-children of the company. I will not be purchasing another Beats product. 😔
