PowerBeats Pro shutting down with battery

When using my Powerbeats Pro, the left earpiece shuts down randomly, even if it shows more than 80% battery on my iPhone. This only happens with the left one, the right one works normally.

I have the same problem: my right earbud jumps to 55% then dies. The battery is fine in the left one. The only solution I've been offered from Apple is to replace the battery for 1000 SEK. I got these the day they came out so they're out of warranty now.

Someone else here flagged that they thought it had something to do with the microphone. I think they might be onto something. I've noticed that soon after I receive a call the right battery 'dies' or when I've been on Zoom calls it also jumps to 55% then dies. Now when I'm using Zoom I use the computer microphone NOT the PowerBeats Pro microphone, maybe others can experiment with this (not using the microphone) and see if it helps.

I let the left headphone outside of the charging case for several days, and it dropped below 55% and got down all the way to 2%. I was then able to use the left headphone again for minimal time until it reached 0% and turned off. The next day I charged the left ear bud slightly and it has been working well for a few hours. I will report back in about a week with another update.

Here is what we can do : contact Apple by chat then tell the issue. After having discussed, the advisor will certainly say you need to replace them, at this moment ask to talk to a senior advisor then this senior advisor will be able to escalate the issue to the engineers. If a lot of us do this, they would see it’s a firmware issue…

This problem started for me maybe a month or two ago. However, I only notice the problem when the PowerBeats are connected to my MacBook Pro (running OS 11.x) and when I am Zoom calls. The left earbud will sound the battery warning and cut out after about 35-40 minutes.

I don't think I've experienced the problem when connected to my iPhone. I can listen to music or watch videos for hours.

I wonder if the problem could be related to mic usage. I am going to experiment with setting the mic to use the right earbud and see if things change.

Apples lack of addressing this problem is sickening.. The product is faulty and should be fixed or replaced by warranty laws.

Take a few minutes and go into different sites and rate Powerbeats as low as you can. Shortly explain the problem. If many enough of us actually do it, apple would of course address this problem and fix it as soon as possible to not lose more customers.

I have this exact problem as well. Right earbud disconnects and sounds the battery warning at exactly 55%. However, it's not consistent. It happens frequently but seems to be associated with the microphone, at least anecdotally. Yesterday I watched 4 hours of Netflix on my phone, no issue, headphones were about 67% afterwards. This morning, spend 24 minutes on a Teams call on my 16" MBP (muted but the mic is 'active') right earbud dead at 55%. This isn't a battery issue. It's a firmware/bt stack issue for sure. Something weird is going on.

I am certain about it too. It isn’t a software issue it more likely to be a manufacturing defect.

as i have purchased it at the very beginning of it’s release and it got this 55% issue in around mid 2021 after about 2 years since i started using it.

Also, i have had tried using it with android phone, if there is a software issue then certainly 55% issue wouldn’t have happened with android.
