ipod classic not showing in itunes.

Don't take Windows' word for it. Force it to use the driver you select.

No. They'll get added to the drive, but the classic's database. You need to use iTunes.

I have the same problem ,my computer shows my ipod classic connected but itunes does not find it .

Every now and then i have had a message come up on my ipod to use itunes to restore but itunes does not recognize my ipod .

I am in the same boat any help would be appreciated , i am not hopeful that there is a simple solution other than throwing the ipod out .

Not happy with apple as they no longer support the ipod classic , to the point i will probably swear off buying apple again .

Not good it appears that upon doing the diagnostic test on the hard drive (SMART DATA) , I have a message on my screen telling me ERROR ! Diag Halt [cant open Device ].

I guess that means my hard drive is screwed , is there a fix for this ?

You can investigate options for a flash memory conversion kit.
