Apple CarPlay keeps disconnecting (2021)

Wireless CarPlay on my 2021 Hyundai i30 keeps disconnecting at random intervals. In addition to that, it also disconnects at one specific location during my morning commute to work without fail every morning. To me they seem like two different issues, even though they share the same outcome.

The audio unit issuer for Hyundai, Seednav, has already released an update regarding this concern and I have installed it in my car. Unfortunately the issue still remains the same. Recent communications with Seednav have resulted in the blame being pointed towards apple. Is there a fix in the making for this issue?

Hi Ditchy

did you mean to say the I30 never had a wireless option?......it was the wired that stopped working I think because of the 14.8 usb security update?......It is very frustrating because I figure CarPlay could be a reason for buying a particular model. Apple either never thought of the impact or the car manufacturers failed to upgrade in tandem.

Well...... they finally lifted my restrictions to posting on this site. I have good news and bad. Genesis Corporate finally got involved and fixed my issues with CarPlay continually dropping the program but since I can not say anything detrimental I can not tell you what they and Apple had to do to get it to work.

But with all of the issues I am reading on the internet with the IOS 15 I am reluctant to download it at this time.

Hi

I would like to help and felt your frustration. Now I am not positive I have a solution and if not I will do my level best to find it.

A lot of people are having CarPlay issues.

here are several options you can try and I pray one of them works.

go to settings > music > EQ, Now play one song on your IPhone for about a minute NOT ON CARPLAY. Then go back to settings > music > EQ and turn the EQ off. Plug your phone in again and it should work.

‘’’if it doesn’t then you Reset your IPhone go to settings and reset settings following all the prompts, you may need to give your password for security reasons, follow the prompts.

If this doesn’t fix it then I will try to find another solution.

mu IPhone only works wireless in my husbands Toyota otherwise I can’t listen to music. I use an Apple plug and put it in the USB Port.

my Car has USB and CarPlay so I have two options my IPod or my IPhone. Hope this helps

‘’I have learned two Options.

‘’The First Option, Using your phone - Go to settings > music > EQ and turn on a choice of music, Play a song for about a minute but not on CarPlay—-on your phone. Then go back to settings > music > EQ and turn the EQ off. Plug your phone on and it should work.

If not your second Option. Is to reset back to factory settings. See if that will restore your phone go to settings and then General tap reset and and reset. all settings. Follow prompts.

hope that works

Hello and thank for asking,

First, because you have an encrypted Company phone I would suggest you go to your IT department at your Company. You will need to find out what you can or can not do with the Company phone.

Second, If you want to pass this information on to your IT Department they can assist you. You can return settings to their defaults without erasing your content. If you want to save your settings , BACK up IPhone BEFORE returning them to their defaults.

Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset IPhone > Reset

Choose an Option

WARNING: if you choose the Erase all Content and Settings option, all of your content is remove.

Reset all Settings: All Settings - Including network, settings, the keyboard dictionary, the Home Screen layout, location settings, privacy settings, and Apple Pay Cards - are removed or reset to their defaults. No data or media are deleted.

Before you do anything I would suggest that yo contact a Senior Apple Support as this is a Company Phone

You keep ignoring the several users who posted immediately before you did that their issues were solved by an update performed by their automaker.

Apple's fix does not mean the issue was theirs all along, just that, if the update fixed it for you, that your issue apparently was.

Note the release note mention does not mean iOS 15.0.2 fixed an issue for any user for whom the fix ended up being an update to their vehicle.

You are still obstinately ignoring all of the users whose issues were fixed by their automakers.

I will helpfully quote one for you:

ISSSUE SOLVED

I went to a Hyundai dealership and they did a Nav system update and it completely fixed the issue

Further, you also assume the fix in 15.0.2 is a universal fix for everyone's issues.

Finally you claimed it was the last iOS 14 update that was "at fault" but it was released September 13, 2021 and you are quoting from a post I made in April.

I recently rented cars.. BMW… VW… Hyundai and I have a KIA. The CarPlay disconnects with all of them. I just purchased a 13 MAX PRO and it is worse than my X.

That one seemed to disconnect twice (maybe three times) then be fine. This one… repeatedly.

I am using a wire for my car (2018 model) and the rentals have been 2021’s. Too bad… and to be fair, it’s pretty dangerous especially IF one is using navigation.
