Apple is trying to take my scammed money from me again

I recently had some money scammed from me through Apple Pay ($300). I called Apple about what to do and they told me to dispute it with my bank so I did. My bank then gave me a provisional credit which should be determined if I even get the money back soon. Apple just last night now adjusted my balance to -$300. When I called the woman told me to tell my bank to call off the dispute then mail something to Apple... when I called my bank they said that’s not correct and they have no idea why they’re doing that. They said "it’s almost like Apple is holding your money hostage because you tried to dispute it." Why would I cancel my dispute and risk not getting the money back? Why does Apple keep trying to take the money from me? I was scammed, I contacted everyone and was told to go to my bank, disputed it with my bank, thought everything was okay, now this is happening? Why???!?!?!?

Your bank took the 300 from Apple Cash. It did not refund you anything. The bank has no jurisdiction to refund Apple Cash.

  • Apple Cash cannot be refunded if you have been the victim of a scam. There is no buyer protection for Apple Cash. You must report it to the police and report it here - contact us to open a dispute
  • If the scam happened on social media (Facebook/Instagram, etc.) you need to let them know as well.
  • If you have a negative balance on your Apple Cash you need to transfer enough money from your bank account to cover the negative amount. You should also go here - Apple Pay Customers
