Software Update Culprit

I’m thinking that the software update is the culprit here. So, restore your Apple TV to Factory Settings. But before doing that, try the following:

  • Try Ethernet:

Have an an Ethernet cable handy? If so, use it, as a hardwired connection may be more reliable. You’d plug one end of the cable in to your Apppe TV and into your router. See if the buffering discontinues:

If if no success...

Reset to Factory Settings:

  1. Go to: General
  2. Select: Reset
  3. Select: Restore
  4. Wait it Out: until all is reset

Restart your Router:

See if restarting your router fixes this. It may take a few to get it all working once more.

Inform Apple of this:

Give Apple feedback on what is going on here. Apple won't get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what is going on, and what needs to be fixed.

  1. Go Here: Feedback - Apple TV - Apple
  2. Select: "Report a Problem" for the "Feedback Type"
  3. Comment: on when this all began, and how you have troubleshot it thus far.
  4. Proceed from these as necessary.

Restart Apple TV

Do any of the following:

  • Press and hold the   and Home   buttons on the Siri Remote until the Apple TVstatus light blinks rapidly.
  • Disconnect Apple TV from the power outlet, wait five seconds, then reconnect it.
  • Open Settings  on Apple TV, go to System and select Restart.

If that doesn’t work, then it’s probably faulty, or you need to up your internet speed.

what’s your internet speed? (To check, go to Speedtest.net on your web browser using your phone, tablet, or computer.

"YouTube buffering on Apple TV: It’s still bad I’m running out of ideas now it’s just so weird cause YouTube on my iPhone and iPad have no problem at all with buffering and there in the same wifi it’s literally just my Apple TV"

Is your Cable 4K?

Try purchasing a HDMI cable that is 4K. Connecting using a 4K cable that might even things out a bit.
