Plug Icon on Battery when Plugged in?



Hello all,


I have been having problems recently where when I plug in my laptop to charge, I get this symbol on the battery icon and no charge. Sometimes it will eventually switch to the lightning symbol and the MacBook will charge, but sometimes not.


Does anyone have any suggestions for why this is happening and how I can solve the issue?

Under 3 conditions battery status may show "Not charging".

It showsup on this Mac too, when it is connected to power.


When I unplugged it, it returned to status showing just battery icon.

Percentage is not shown in the screenshot above because I enabled percentage to be shown in the menu bar.

If I didn't enable it, percentage would have shown next the battery symbol,
