selecting photos for facebook or eBay

I am using Mohave on a Macbook Pro. Since the last security update 2021-2 (10.14.6) I have been unable to load any photos from my photo library onto facebook marketplace or eBay. The photo icon appears in the box but it is not active(sort of greyed out) and I get the message 'Open Photos to see your photos in this list' or 'No media was found'. I tried to create a new photos library but again that is not active in the box.

The uploads work fine on my phone so I assume it is just an issue on the laptop.

Any suggestions please?

Your screenshot is showing, that the Photos.app is not running. Launch Photos, so it can run in the background and create thumbnails for the Media Browser. If Photos were running, we would be seeing a tiny dot below the icon in the Dock.

leave it longer then safari will beachball and you will have to force quit. you don't see the beachball in my screenshot, but it was in this state since my last post (over 24 hours) and I had to force quit it.

Note that it seems to try something (the spinning load indicator) while Firefox fails from the start. Please I repeat note that the Preview native Mac app (find it by typing "preview" in spotlight search) DOES open any media from iCloud Photo library INSTANTLY, and I have 20.000 items in the library

Hi, I have had this same problem last weekend. Went to upload photos to my listings for eBay and when the dropdown box came for me to select my photos it either said No media found or photos loading but nothing appears. just the beachball endlessly spinning. I can upload the photos to the eBay draft from my phone and they will then appear on the listing but it's so frustratingly longwinded. I've never had this before. It's the same with marketplace. I'm using the Mohave version 10.14. 6

Did you manage to get it sorted if so please tell me how.

Yes it is greyed out but does not change when I click on it.

Hi there. I have a managed library. iCloud is enabled. Optimise macstorage is not enabled.

yes I did. It doesn't open or do anything, even though it looks like an active button.

you could, as that is the only workaround, but that is very frustrating and time consuming.

I haven't managed to sort this out. I have been using my phone for facebook marketplace items. haven't used eBay for a while now but i guess i'll use my phone for that too.
