Fast forward and rewind through audio messages? (IOS14)

Is there a way to Fast forward and rewind through audio messages? You have to start over when ever the screen locks or you accidentally minimise the imessage app.

The more I work with Apple audio messages the more they appear to be extremely inferior to other messaging platforms.

Use your finger and slide the cursor forward or backward.

Nope that doesnt do anything. Swiping from the right just gives me the message time stamp.
