ICloud Mail is Slow
I am having trouble with all my devices being very slow to download. ICloud is really slow on Safari. My internet speed is good.

Possibly related, given that this seems to only be affecting some accounts: I did discover recently that Apple "lost" my very old Apple ID that I originally set up around 12 years ago and with which I bought a lot of songs, apps, etc., but which I stopped using about 7 years ago. They claim said ID never existed in their system but I essentially have now lost access to all of my purchases made using it.
I hope this isn't some kind of similar thing where my current Apple ID (iCloud account) is being somehow "deprecated" by Apple or something.....
I don't think it's related. I had the same situation but couldn't find my old ID and password. I mostly had songs. I explored options for a long time but basically due to changes in iTunes, the advent of Apple music and the fact I couldn't retrieve my old login info, I gave it up.
Nothing has changed for the worse since I first posted yesterday, that my mail problems disappeared sometime during Tuesday afternoon.
Messages still appear to be arriving quickly.
But the largest improvement, all messages are rendered fully when I click on them!
And it's been that way for almost 48 hours, any time of the day.
I posted to Apple Support on Twitter with a link to this discussion and they replied telling me they’d recently fixed something and that I need to restart my devices but it’s fixed nothing.
Its absolutely an iCloud issue because my work exchange email is perfectly fine.
In dealing with this ongoing issue, I am learning more about the Apple culture than I really want to. But to say, sounds like the Senior Support techs aren't big fans of the engineers. I read between the lines from my newest senior tech- he's my 3rd and I may keep him because he does sound like he cares and knows what he's doing.
Lesson learned. Only use Apple hardware. Everything else, stay away! Google (and maybe even Microsoft) know servers better than anyone.
Yes, my iCloud mail is very slow, but my son's is fine. Takes minute and 30 secs to download e-mail - on any device, browser, pc, etc. This is not acceptable! It's been like this for a week and the online support sucks.
Didn't work for me either. I cleaned out my mailboxes last week when it started and nothing has changed. Now I am bummed b/c I did b/c I often refer to old emails for information. I'm going to have to call and keep calling. I gave feedback on a link another user suggested too. https://www.apple.com/feedback/
This issue has been infuriating and persists for the last two weeks. When I access mail in a browser (I timed it) it takes over 60 seconds to load my inbox. Each email takes 30-45 seconds to display after clicking on it. Same with every browser, same with my iphone, same on any and all devices. I've tested multiple browsers, computers, internet connections, etc. It's so slow that checking my email is an awful, time-consuming chore. I was late to a meeting with the VP of my company because it took two minutes to load the email with the Zoom info >:(. Apple PLEASE FIX THIS.
It’s definitely better. These email notifications for your post and others are loading immediately. Yesterday it could have taken up to 2 minutes. I had time to get a cup of coffee by the time they loaded.
Just an update concerning the Mail problem that I was plagued with for a copy of months.
The 'Fix' appears to be holding for me, which appears to have happened either during the afternoon, or early evening of Tuesday, June 8.
Messages continue to quickly arrive, if I take the speed of messages from this site, as an example.
And every new message is complete, if opened at once after I see it arrive in the 'Inbox'.
And just to make it clear, I did absolutely nothing in the week, or so, leading up to the afternoon that Mail started being useful.
I did not delete, or move any old and/or huge messages, from my 'Inbox'.
I did not try another email address.
I did not log out of, and back into, iCloud.
I did not play with any internet settings.
And, I did not not contact 'Apple' in any way, concerning the problems that I was having with Mail.
I have the 50 GB Storage Plan.
With the 'Inbox' using 10.33 GB, and containing 45,265 messages.
Add to that, 'Sent Messages' shows 8.62 GB used, and containing 28,942 messages.
For a grand total of 19.9 GB currently in use.
Still holding my breath but something has definitely changed today. These notification emails are loading immediately for the first time in at least 10 days. I can still see some momentary hang ups but nothing like before. It seems they may be having to deal with each account individually rather than apply a blanket remedy for all. If that is correct then not all will see improvement today but it looks like it’s coming.
Mine's seemed back to pretty much normal since about noon PDT today (Fri). I'm not declaring "fixed" until next week though -- just in case the "server-killer business" had a half-day holiday today! :-)
The weekends were always ok, off peak hours. But my improvement came Friday and is holding up this morning as well. Make certain you have a case number from them. It does seem as if they are going from account to account.
I had improvement on Friday as well and through the weekend as usual. This morning, iCloud is loading quickly and my mail client is as well (but still slow to "move" messages). My Phone seems to be the issue now. Back to old slowness on that. Going to try and restart and see if that helps?
Well, mine is back to being slow. I don't think it as slow, but nothing relatively close to normal. I'll give it until tomorrow before I call Apple again with my case number. Glad some have been restored.
