iTunes Extras not working properly for HD movies

Hello,


I am using Windows 10 on PC with the latest updates and the most recent version of iTunes.


I don't know how long this has been happening, but every time I try to play an HD movie on iTunes and it opens up the iTunes Extras menu, I can't get the movie to play after that. I press Play, but then iTunes freezes. There's no other way to play the movie. Another detail I noticed is that while I am able to click on the different links on the Extras menu, I cannot watch any of the feature clips either -- it freezes for those, too. My computer is able to play HD content, though, because I have TV shows in HD that play just fine, so I suspect the Extras menu to be the problem.


My questions are:

  1. Are we able to delete the Extras features?
  2. Is there a way to disable the Extras feature?
  3. Is it possible to skip the Extras menu and go straight to the movie?


Some attempts I've tried to fix this were:

  1. I tried disconnecting from the internet to skip the Extras feature, but then when I tried playing the movie, everything would freeze and I would have to use Task Manager to end iTunes.
  2. I tried Creating a New Library on iTunes and adding the movies, but I still faced the same problem.
  3. I have deleted the movie from my library and hard drive, re-downloaded the HD movie, but it didn't work.
  4. I have also tried to just download the SD version of the movie, but when I pressed play, it would still bring me to the Extras menu.


All I want is to watch HD movies without accessing the Extras menu/features.

Unfortunately, I still have the same problem and am unable to watch HD movies, even after reading and following the suggestions written in those articles you linked. It seems the main problem is the iTunes Extras menu, because once it pops up and I click Play, the entire iTunes app freezes.


I did notice that when the Extras window is in full screen and when I move my mouse toward the bottom, the usual play buttons appear, but those are greyed out and cannot be clicked on. I've included a screenshot of this:
