Hello everyone. This will only help those that have a backup somewhere and know their current vault password.

Download Password Manager

setup vault with same password

create a backup to DropBox (will be blank)

go to DropBox and navigate to

Apps/iPassword+/

you will see here the blank backup you just did.

Find your original backup and replace the blank one with that one.

Open password manager (new one with good trim but same logo)

settings

restore from DropBox (will get success but will be blank first time)

close and repeat the restore again and should now populate

good luck

Found a working solution (for users syncing with iCloud as a backup).

Open App Store app > Tap profile image in the upper right corner > Tap Purchased > Search "Password" > you should find an app called "Passwords Manager Vault", tap on it > scroll down and tap on the developer name (all foreign language characters) located directly above the Rating and Review section > download app named "Password Manager" > once you get in the app and enter a new password (write it down for now) go to Setting in the app and scroll down to Backup & Restore section and tap Via iCloud > follow the instructions until the sync is complete and you should have all your passwords back! Just worked for my wife's phone a few minutes ago.

Good luck! I've attached images to help out.

I had the same problem which I solved by downloading the iPassword PRO app (above). I had to pat £6.95 for it though. The app appears to be exactly the same as the one that has stopped working after the update. All my passwords etc are there though. All I did was set up a master password and then sign in and do a back up from my cloud from settings in the app.

Thanks for all of the info here! I now have the Password Manager Vault app on my iPhone and followed prompts to the iCloud Back up/Restore and received the attached screen sheet. Unfortunately, it looks like iPassword was not backed up to the iCloud.

Do I have a chance here? Will iMazing solve this problem and if so - do I back it on my new or old iPhone to retrieve this data? Many thanks for everyone's attention to this awful situation.

Any suggestions or links?

I did this but unfortunately, for some reason the data in iPassword was not in iCloud. See screen shot. Do you have any other suggestions? I am following this platform and will attempt to upload iMazing. Do you know which device I should upload it too? My old iPhone, my PC, my new iPhone that has the update locking access to iPassword?

Thanks for any guidance you all can provide.

Super easy fix to this issue. In the App Store is an app called Password Manager’. You’ll notice that the icon is the same as iPassword from a couple of years ago. See screen shot attached. Download that app and sign in. Upon opening, you will see that it is identical to the old iPassword that we’ve been locked out of. Go to the settings page and scroll down to the backup and restore section. Restore from iCloud. Voila! All your passwords from the old version of iPassword are populated into the new one.

When I tried this, it took about two seconds to restore, so I didn’t think it worked. So happy I’ve got my information back. Not that I trust this company at all, will probably be seeking another PW storage option.

HI everyone,

I've been following this site for over a month and not had success using an older device and uploading iMazing. I needed an 8 character password and my old iPassword was only a 4 character password. Any suggestions around this?

Also, the solution you all have been talking about using an old device didn’t work for me because I was blocked accessing iCloud. See screen shot. Any other options?

Guidance much appreciated.

Thanks for the clarification! I re-read the steps and went directly through iMazing. I now have backed up both devices.

When I try to Transfer the iPassword file from the new device to the old, I am asked to turn off "Find my Phone." This required an Apple sign-in on the old device and my new and old Apple sign in is not working, so stuck again.

Any suggestions?

Oh this week was a technology nightmare like no other when i mindlessley updated my iPhone to ios15 (i was previously using 14.something) but thank you NING256 for your tips. I had an old iPad ios12.4.6 and used iMazing free version via my PC to retrieve over 6 years of passwords. What a relief. I had very old phone backups on my PC via itunes but did not want to restore from there as many more passwords had been collected since my last 2019 itunes backup.

Things were not so smooth in restoring via iMazing, as the the application asked for the "encrypted backup password" before it could create a copy of my old ipassword app data. I didn't ever recall creating a password and thought it was game over for me - my PC would not let me create an iphone backup locally, as it was all greyed out for some reason. In desperation I decided to backup my iPhone to the cloud (which you sorta said in Step 1 of your instructions but I foolishled decided to ignore) and after that iMazing stopped complaining (no longer asked for the encryption password) and dutifully backed up the old ipassword app data to my PC. That was a euphoric feeling, I knew I had a copy then.

The old iPad enabled me to restore ipassword exactly as you described in Step 7. And then iMazing quite happily restored the app data for the backup now copied on my PC. I skipped around the office all day, despite losing many hours of sleep.

So my big tip here is, if you have forgotten your itunes encryption backup password, then try an icloud backup on your phone before attempting to start with the app data backup using iMazing. Good luck people. And I will be looking for another password manager now, I just can't go back to this one on principle.

It doesn’t matter if it’s called iPassword, xPassword, 123Password. The prompt you see means the app is no longer compatible with the iOS 14.5 software and app developer needs to update it for the users of it to be able to continue use of the app.

So reach out to the dev or whomever is supporting the app you have the issue with to ask them to update the app or at least provide you with instructions how you can access the app data.
