It is accurate.

It is incumbent on the user to do due diligence with his or her mac. This includes having proper backups.

As Murphy's Law has it, it is usually when there are no backups that problems tend to arise.

Apple does not offer old versions of Big Sur for download, so once 11.3 is out it is very hard to install 11.2.3 or a previous version of Big Sur. Unless the user has a backup or has saved the 11.2.3 installer, that's it.

Go to recovery (command-R), select restore from Time machine, pick your TM drive, open Macintosh HD-Data volume and select a previous version like 11.2.3 and restore. Like others have stated if no TM you are out of luck. However if 11.2.3 was OK you should have very few 11.3 issues. I had only one that i fixed. What issues are you having?

I used to have a PC not an APPLE product and i was always able to go back in time to restore from a previous date as it was always built in but like a lot of UPDATES FROM APPLE most of them cause mayhem just a load of ****, APPLE needs to get people in who know what they are doing as it seems we can't trust APPLE updates.

The same applies to Apple if one actually uses the Time Machine Backup which is Built-in the OS. To quote @Luis Sequeira1 " It is incumbent on the user to do due diligence with his or her Mac "

Last I used it, that feature had to be enabled by the user, also.

You can always try restoring from the Snapshot the Update should have created.

I've never had a problem with any Apple update, nor have millions of other people. Most problems with updates are caused by ill-advised installation of system modifications and other crapware by the user.

Hi Luis, my name is Joche and I was the one who posted the question. I thank you very much for replying sooner. I do have a TM, however my last backup was on the 22nd of April....not to far away. How long would it take to restore about 80 gb?. As I recall, this was about the size of the latest back up.

I did have several problems with the computer and the iPhones but I also realized that we have an eero 6 system and they only released their corresponding update this morning. Said this, the phones are working just fine. My problem is with an application called papers where I keep all my library of articles, etc. I have contacted the company to figure out if they can help me out with this.

Well I don't have a TimeMachine back up. I did however have automatic updates on. Big Sur 11.3 has broken my Thunderbold 3 connection to my external QNAP NAS and now I have no connectivity to it to get my external data. How do I get back to a working OS without TimeMachine. Which would have been on the NAS had I been using it. I'm dead in the water without any connectivity.

There has to be another working solution to this problem because I'm seeing lots and lots of video editors like myself with the same issue. This is as stupid as the FCP X release that was about 4 generations behind FCP 7. No duel monitor function in Apples "professional" software.
