I noticed my iphone so slow and laggy since updated to IOS 14.5.1 according to their recommend.
does anyone have the same problem?

To any ll who have posted recently - how much time has passed since you updated to 14.5.1 ?? As Dogcow-Moof posted - most problems resolved themselves after 24 hours +. I initially had really slow (slaggy) system when I updated to ios 14.5.1 but after 24 hours it improved and now it works fine (iphone (7) and ipad (2020).
14.6 solved my problems. Been happy ever since.
1) Apple Engineering is not here and does not read these forums. so appealing to Apple here literally does nothing. We are all just fellow Apple users.
2) As mentioned previously, for 24-48 hours after installing an update your phone will run slower as the phone rebuilds internal databases.
3) If you are running third party apps, those may need an update to operate properly with the new iOS version, so be sure to keep them updated.
I have the exact same problem since IOS update 14.5.1
The only ‘Solution’ that works right now is to turn off your IPhone and connect it to a power charger and let it boot up.

This is what I tried: Turned off. Left off for 4 hours. Plugged into charger --it auto-started. Left it on charger for 4 hours. While still plugged into charger, signed in with password to enable face recognition. While still connected to charger, tried to use Ring --would not display videos. Tried to download new app from App Store --THREE hours to download. Have ordered a Lightning to USB-C cable which will arrived tomorrow. WIll then try the iPhone to MacBook Pro sync that someone suggested. I will report success or failure after that attempt tomorrow. Any other suggestions? (Note: low energy mode is off.)
I confirmed temporary solution for this symptom.
Using a power charger being connected worked for my iphone 7. as soon as restarted, it works normally.
I also tested without the being connected it to power charger, the issues persist!
It seems I fixed my 12 Pro Max.
Try this: turn off the phone, leave it for a minute, plug in the charger, let it start normally
Looks like 14.6 fixed the issue so far!
I tested that the issue still persists when I boot up my iphone without the connecting it to power charger.
So it's only solution at this point
Whenever you are going to restart your iphone, I recommend you use your power charger
not sure if apple support is aware that IOS 14.5.1 version has issue. their customer support doesn't help at all.
Note also for the first 24 hours or so after installing a new software update, your phone may operate slightly slower than normal as the phone updates various internal databases in the background.
Hey!! Use the charger to boot up your iphone. First power off your phone and then use the charger to reboot it. Somehow this way solved my problem, and I hope it'll solve yours as well.
Make sure magnifier is turned off.
If your phone is resetting, make an appointment to have it examined.
Maybe try to keep charging your phone after it restarted for a few minutes. Let's use your phone when it's plugged in and see if there is any difference.
