lightning connector ;disconnection problem

iPhone 7, lightning connector

I searched the discussion group and found someone asked the same question and the answer was “use another earphone or clean the cable.”

I do not believe that is the answer and I could not reply( message sent in Jan 2020)

it has become very annoying since practically cable/connector does not connect properly.

earphone , the charger cable does not matter which one.

i have cleaned and it may help for a day, probably, or minutes; although it is near to impossible to clean where the socket part inside the iPhone.

so practically I cannot use earphone while moving, after seconds it disconnect. An not sure if it is charging or not!

i beliebe I have found one of the reasons. There are two small cavity/notches at the sides of the connector that within the iPhone it is supposed to sort of latch into it and keeps it secure. Perhaps that mechanical part inside the socket lose their grip over the time. So changing the cable, cleaning,... won’t help. I will check with apple to see if they do repair it or recommend to buy a new iPhone,

Perhaps I can go for bluetooth, but what about charging! Sometimes when there in no charge at all I am not sure if the cable is connected properly or not.

Thank you! I checked with Apple, 245 pounds estimate!

I consider this as a design flaw, why?

the latching system, lets say point of failure, lets say the mechanical part, was on the cable connector and you could pay 20 pounds if there was a problem and buy a new cable.

For Lighting cable now the mechanical point of failure is moved inside the iPhone since it is too small for the cable to have the latch.

It is sort of harsh to pay 259 for design flaw!
