I FOUND A FIX!

Go to listen now at the bottom left, then click your profile in the top right. The reason you can’t share them is because you haven’t set up an actual Apple Music profile. Make that profile and you’ll be able to share again

Hi FredZepplin2020,

Thanks for reaching out about sharing a playlist with Apple Music. We can help with this. What happens when you try to share it? Do you get an error message? Have you tried to send it to different people? If not, try that to make sure there isn't an issue with just one person.

Use these steps on how to share a playlist:

  1.  Open the Apple Music app on your mobile device (iPhone, iPod touch, iPad)
  2. Tap "Playlists" in the "Library" tab.
  3. Scroll to find the playlist you wish to share. Tap or click to open it.
  4. Tap or click the three-dots icon at the top of the playlist page to open a pop-up menu.
  5. Tap or click "Share Playlist…"
  6. Choose from the many options listed to share your playlist as you like. You can tap a recent contact at the top, use AirDrop with nearby devices, or choose to send by email or social media. Swipe left or right over the app shortcuts to scroll through more options. Some may allow you to add a message when sending. Finally, you can tap the "Copy" option to copy a link to the playlist, which you can then paste anywhere.

Take Care.

Just fixed this. On the Playlist you want to send:

  • Hit the three dots (ellipsis) on upper right corner
  • Hit Edit
  • Then "Show on My Profile and in Search" toggle will show in middle of screen; select it
  • Hit Done

The "Share Playlist" option should now appear when you hit the three dot ellipsis.

If you haven't set up your Apple Music profile you may need to do that first. To do that, go to your "Listen Now" page on Apple Music, hit the Face button on upper right and follow prompts.

I think sharing our playlists on our Apple Music profile is the price we now pay to share them...but you can control who sees your Apple Music profile by hitting Edit on your profile homepage and selecting "People You Approve" under "Who Can Follow Your Activity".

I was suffering from the same problem as many users. The answer lies in two responses.

  1. Press the 3 dots.
  2. Click edit.
  3. A slider button appears below the album images to share.
  4. Turn the share on my profile. DONE. If this doesn’t work, go to Step 5.
  5. Go to “Listen Now”
  6. Click the image in the upper right corner.
  7. Set up your profile. (Choose your name, etc.)
  8. Complete the setup process.
  9. CLOSE APPLE MUSIC
  10. Reopen Apple Music, click the … in the playlist you want to share.
  11. Click edit.
  12. A slider button appears below the image of the album. Make sure it’s on.
  13. Share away!

Hopefully this helps some people!

barrett 116, did you read the thread? Here’s one of the many posts that explains the solution:

Got it working on iO 14.7.1

On the Playlist you want to share

  • Hit the three dots (ellipsis) on upper right corner
  • Hit Edit
  • Then "Show on My Profile and in Search" toggle will show in middle of screen; select it
  • Hit Done

At this point the "Share Playlist" is still missing - Now we need to un toggle "Show on My Profile and in Search"

  • Hit the three dots (ellipsis) on upper right corner
  • Hit Edit
  • Then "Show on My Profile and in Search" toggle will show in middle of screen; unselect it !
  • Hit Done

The "Share Playlist" option should now appear when you hit the three dot ellipsis.

Enjoy

The "Share" option is no longer available on your playlist if you've updated your iPhone or iPad to 14.5.1. While if your device is running a version before 14.5.1, chances are that you can share your playlist as you want. The steps of doing this are shown below.

  1. Open your Apple Music on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Tap "Playlists" in the "Library" tab.
  3. Scroll down to find the playlist you want to share, and then tap or click to open it.
  4. Hit the three dots in the upper right corner of your playlist.
  5. Tap "Share Playlist...," and then select an option.

On iOS devices running a version after 14.5.1, you can use some third-party transfer tool to export your playlist first and then with your friends. Though this might be a little bit time-consuming, it is indeed helpful. If you don't know which tool to use, consider using this iPhone data transfer tool - EaseUS MobiMover to get the job done.
