Trouble playing music via airplay on My apple tv 4K. If I try and add a second apple tv or iPod as an additional source, the music stops playing in the apple 4K device.

What’s going on? It use to work.

  1. Music from an Apple Music (or iTunes Match) subscription will play from one device at a time. Multiple sources requires multiple accounts/subscriptions (or Family subscription), or DRM-free home sharing tracks.
  2. Audio-only AirPlay to multiple devices requires that those destination devices are all AirPlay 2-enabled.
