imac 2021 buzzing noise

My iMac 24" 2021 is emitting a loud buzzing noise during use. Whether the device is being used for multiple browsing windows and writing simultaneously, or sitting on the desktop not being used after first being turned on.

When I say loud I mean noticeable. If I turn the audio up loud enough it drowns out the noise unless you put your ear down towards the screen. Only ever used MacBooks before and never noticed a noise before even while programming on a MacBook Pro. As I say it isn't noticeable if the audio is loud enough to drown it out but I plan to use this device for writing my novels so I won't have audio playing and that noise will be extremely distracting.

Is this common with iMac's ?

i'm not fortunate enough to have anything M1, but i'm pretty sure that with only flash storage in them it shouldn't be making any noise. my intel iMac 19,1 is 100% flash storage and it runs absolutely silent. i'm positive that you should be Contacting Apple for support and service. buzzing noises are very likely abnormal.

Meanwhile, try disabling Ethernet on the iMac and see if it resolves. The new iMac power supply carries both, power and Ethernet, could be related. Not a solution, but worth nailing down/eliminating.

Having brightness above 75% is not a solution for me, it's killing my eyes!

The same here. Thank you all. So I'm not alone. Screen brighnes at 80% or higher solves the buzz noise. But that is far too bright for me. Apple, try to fix this please.

I have the same problem. My new iMac gives of a high pitched sound when the screen is below a certain brightness. I think I'm going to contact apple about this...
