iMovie: include notes on clips

The Advanced Tools feature of iMovie 9 was eliminated in iMovie 10. The features of iMovie 10 are accessed from the menu and from the tool bar at the upper right of the screen and from pop-up menus when you control click on a clip, and from the Settings button located above and to the right of the timeline.

There is no feature for adding notes to a clip other than by overlaying a title. You can add notes to a clip before importing into iMovie. If you click on View and check Skimmer then, when you move your cursor over a clip in the media browser the clip file name and title will appear.

You can create a transparency screen in the Preview app on your Mac, then do a Tools/Annotate/Text to add text to the transparency screen. The you can import the transparency text into iMovie and overlay it onto your clip with the Picture in Picture feature.
