Battery drain on iOS 14.6
my battery life on iOS 14.6 is terrible… is it just me or anyone is experiencing this thing too??

So after putting up with this issue of the App Store using around 50% of my battery each day for nearly two weeks (and with activity levels at 100% every hour, with almost all of it in the background) I contacted apple support online chat. They suggested a few things that I had already tried and so we went to the full restore whilst the phone is plugged into a computer. So I reset my phone 11 via my Mac (following their instructions) and then I restored via iCloud backup .
I have now had ten hours of normal battery behaviour; usually by this point in the day my iPhone would be nearly dead. It is still on 56% 👍🏻👏🏻
So if anyone on here is struggling with battery life since iOS 14.6 was released and has tried a number of things but not yet tried the full restore plugged into a computer (which is better than an untethered restore according to the apple support chat representative) then I would urge you try it. Yes, it is a pain resetting the phone and waiting for it to restore from backup (and I now need to reconfigure my banking apps and wallet) - but I'm very happy that the problem seems to be resolved.
Cheers
So a quick update. Reading some of the posts, I have disabled the « find my network » thing but not sure this makes any difference. My average screen time over the last week is 2h35 so it’s not much. And with WFH, the phone is hooked up to Wi-Fi for 97% of the time.
I have to say that, from being quite a “smug chap” because I didn’t need to recharge battery before ios14.6 and poking fun at the family members with an X and 11Pro needing to charge their devices, I don’t look so clever now with my 12 Pro Max. Last night I had to recharge at 10pm with 10% battery remaining.
I did this (turned off Device Management (inside System Services inside Location Services), did a restart. When it came back on I went into Location Services > System Services and "Device Management" was back on.
Are you sure this works?
I’m having the same issue. I use my phone to listen to podcasts during the day. The UI is awful with the 14.6 update and drains my battery (while getting the phone hot). I have an iPhone 8 and was thinking of upgrading, but now I’m thinking of getting something other than an iPhone. There’s no reason for this performance.
My iphone x, iphone 9 & 8 and ipad air pro have been terribly draining battery after upgrading to ios 14.6. Even if the gadgets are off, they are still draining batteries. I need help. Anyone? Thank you in advance
Apple, you fail users again and again. I have been using Iphone since 2007 September, it is hilarious of how you can fool consumers again and again. How hard it is to give decent battery life. Alll phones, all ios updates, same issue. Pathetic !

There was never an "iPhone 9".
Thanks for the advice, but that is not my issue. My battery drains and my phone gets hot when I try to listen to podcasts using the “Podcasts” app. This happens even if the podcast was downloaded to mr phone. The issue does not happen at any other time. Thanks
So now I am totally confuddled. The battery drain on my iPad, which as I have noted in previous posts, had gone from normal life (significantly over a day) to less than 6 hours with the advent of 14.6; suddenly last weekend returned to normal. Nothing obvious changed, or was changed, other than the charge life. I am grateful, but don’t know what happened.
Now this week, my iPhone began exhibiting the exact same symptoms. It stays hot much of the time; won’t charge above 77%; and has very limited charge life.
Can anyone explain?
No bro, when I posted this discussion, after a few weeks Apple called me and asked me to install a profile so then they will get battery logs and stuff, they are listening to us.. but they aren't doing anything.
Also here is the link to that discussion- https://discussions.apple.com/thread/252976539
My iPhoneSE II has the same Rapid-Battery-Drain-bkz-of-AppStore problem that others have noted here.
The "full restore solution" seems like a kitchen-sink response, but I will give it a try.
Thanks for the info!
what’s your battery capacity?
It’s an XR at 85% but even so the difference between today and yesterday is significant
after updating to ios 14.6 my battery capacity reduced by 1%
Ohhk thanks
How to return to iOS 14.5.1??
