Text sound alert

Hi. I have an iPhone 11 and I get sound alerts for everything except when my kid sends me a text. He’s the only person that I don’t get any notifications that he has texted me. Can anyone tell me how to fix it?

Hi there, Shanileigh!

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities! It sounds like you're geting all of your notifications for text messages except for ones from your child. Do you happen to know if "Hide Alerts" is currently enabled for the message thread? You can check this by opening the message thread, tap the top of the conversation and then tap the "i" icon. Once you have Details screen open, you should see an option to Hide Alerts. Be sure to turn this setting off it is currently enabled.
