Is there a way of knitting with apple watch without it counting steps, and without taking the watch off? If I take it of, I often forget to take it on again. Then the hole counting my steps is wasted… :) And I like to knitt when I have five minutes.
This is quite a problem for a lot of knitters and as you have found out you can take the watch off but you don't want that.
The only other workaround is to turn off fitness tracking;
Settings/privacy/fitness tracking
But then you have to remember to turn it back on again.

what happens if I forget to turn it back on?
None of your exercise will get recorded/tracked.
Not even my ordenary steps?
I can live with manuelly turn on exercise, but need the steps to work without me doing anything.
Unfortunately it will stop counting/recording everything.
I just tried it now.
