External monitor problem "no video input" after big sur 11.4 update

I'm not able to connect my macbook pro (2020) 13" to an external screen. I'm using a usb-c to hdmi converter. A few days/weeks ago, everything worked perfectly. However, following the 11.4 update, my external screen connection fails ("no video input"). I tried connecting it to different screens (using a different converter and different cables), but none of them work. Is there a solution to this problem?

Greetings Hélène88,

We understand that you are experiencing some problems related to using external displays with your MacBook Pro and are happy to advise some basic steps to check.

First, have you attempted to disconnect power to the display, wait for 1 minute, and then reconnect it? If so, does your adapter require third-party software to function, or is there a firmware update for your display? Does this work if you use safe mode (How to use safe mode on your Mac)?

If those do not help, use the link to contact Apple Support at the bottom of the safe mode article to connect with an advisor directly to investigate this further.

We hope this helps!
