Buzzing on Zoom Meeting while sharing screen
When I do a Zoom meeting from my MacBook Pro M1 and share the screen from my iPad Pro 2021, I get a buzzing sound every 30 seconds.
Any solution for that?

Hi,
I spoke to an apple technician and they suggested a workaround that lets us use a wired screenshare via zoom.
1) Open the QuickTime Player app. Under FILE, click ‘New Movie Recording’
2) When the recording window opens, click on the arrow beside the record button and select your iPad as the camera option.
3) On Zoom, click SHARE SCREEN and click on the option that says QuickTime player.
This allows you to share your iPad screen through a wired connection via cable, without the buzzing noise.

I have the same problem, too.
The buzzing sound occurs every 31 sec, and lasts for 1 sec.
It occurs when I share my iPad Air's screen on Zoom using "iPhone/iPad via Cable".
The buzzing sound comes out from a device selected by "Sound > Output" on my MacBook Pro;
MacBook Pro Speakers, AirPod, earphone with cables.
If iPad Air is sleeping, the buzzing sound still occurs, but I get 4 pulses in 1 sec, instead of a continuous buzzing sound.
I do not get the buzzing sound if I share my iPad Air's screen using "iPhone/iPad via AirPlay",
even if the iPad is connected to my MacBook Pro via an USB-C cable.
iPad Air (4th gen) is running iOS 14.6,
MacBook Pro (15", 2018) is running macOS 10.15.7 and Zoom 5.4.9.
I have the exact same problem, and can confirm that luffyarvy's post is a successful workaround until this is fixed.
My setup is iPad Air (4th generation), on iOS 15.0 beta (19A5340a), connected via cable to an iMac (Retina 5K, 27 inch, 2017) running on macOS Big Sur 11.5.2.
I get the same buzzing sound for a second or so every 30 seconds (approx) when using screen share via the "iPhone/iPad via Cable" option on Zoom.
However, if use "New Movie Recording" on Quicktime and display the iPad screen using the Quicktime window, I do not get the buzzing sound. I can also connect the iPad via AirPlay and that also fixes the buzzing, but as others have noted, the video quality is poorer.
This problem never occurred with my previous iPad (iPad 6th generation), so that suggests to me that this is a problem at Apple's end rather than Zoom's.
After some extended time dealing with Apple Tech support, who were amazing by the way, and the issue not being solved by the most recent updates I finally took my Ipad to the Apple Store for in person help. On the second trip there, the tech hooked my Ipad up to one of the display iMacs and was able to reproduce the issue of the buzzing noise when mirroring with Quick Time on the iMac. He then confirmed it was my Ipad Pro 11 inch 3rd gen by testing the in store iMac with a known good cable and known good Ipad and not finding the problem. I am going to pick up a replacement unit today.
I HAVE A SOLUTION!!!!
I was dealing with the same problem and was so frustrated. A couple of weeks ago I decided to go to the Genius Bar inn Palm Desert, CA>. I couldn't get an reservation for that day so I made one for a couple days later. The guy who took my reseravation said, "Before you come in, try this: "Delete ZOOM from your iPad and from your computer. Then restart and reinstall on both. NO BUZZ!!!! it is amazing.!!! I am so excited. Try it. I also have a new iPad and a Mac Pro with M1.

I'm also having the same problem with my 11" M1 iPad Pro. I've talked to Zoom support, and they suggest joining/hosting the meeting from both my Macbook Pro and iPad and sharing the screen directly from the iPad. It works, but the video quality isn't as good as the cable connection though. By the way, Zoom said that they've been pushing Apple to fix this problem, but Apple doesn't really care.
I think I found a relatively satisfying workaround (until Apple decides to care and fix it).
Had this problem too, updated my iPad to 15.3 and the problem is finally gone!
This just started happening to me too!
I have an iPad Air (4th Generation), and this same issue happens on both my iMac (2017, 27") and my M1 MacBook Air.
And it only happens with the wired connection, but not with AirPlay.
It only just started happening in the past week; it never happened before that. It seems to have only started happening ever since I updated my iPad to iPadOS 14.6; I used this exact iPad for teaching and notes on Zoom for months with no issue at all, until the 14.6 update.
Hoping there's a patch soon for it, but for now I'll just be using AirPlay.
I have the same issue with the new 12.9 iPad Pro M1 chip. I have tested it on Screenflow, Ecamm Live and Zoom. All have the buzzing sound after 1 minute or so and then every one minute thereafter. I have tested it on Quicktime and don't have the issue. I reached out to AppleCare and they sent me a new iPad Pro the same issue occurs. Apple thinks it's the third party software's fault that they don't have the software configured correctly for the new M1 Chip. I have no idea.
My previous iPad Pro 2018 had no issues at all.
I keep hoping that Apple will issue a software update that will correct the problem. For now I mute the iPad in Ecamm Live, remove the audio track in Screenflow and use quicktime on Zoom. It seems to me that this is an Apple issue but I'm not sure.
Don’t use the audio of iPad in Quicktime. Worked for me
Thanks for the update aodiligence - updating to i)s 15.2 has worked for me. Much appreciated!
And thanks to the Apple team for solving this issue.
Hey Roberth Jordan,
Sounds like you're noticing an unexpected buzzing sound when doing Zoom meetings with your MacBook Pro and iPad Pro. We'd be happy to help.
To start, if you only use your MacBook Pro and take the iPad Pro out of the equation, do you continue to notice this? Also, does this only occur with Zoom or does this happen anytime you use your front facing camera on your Mac? You can test using the Photo Booth app on your Mac.
If the issue is isolated to only occurring with Zoom, it may be worth reaching out to their support team: Zoom Help Center
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
Take care!
Took my replacement in today and recreated the problem with Quicktime recording in the store on 2 different iMacs, The store staff the grabbed a 12" iPad pro and an 1"1 inch iPad pro in store demo units and found the same issue. Seems there may be a systematic problem with the M1 iPads. 4 different iPads all with the same issue but with 4 different configurations.
