Apple News+ Not Recognizing Me on MacBook Pro

Hello Everyone,

I am an Apple One subscriber and have no issues with either my iPhone or my iPad. Yet every time I try to open Apple News+ on my MacBook Pro, it fails to recognize me. Instead, it asks if I'd like to take a free trial. I have tried every trick in the book to make this work. I have signed out and back in, restarted in between even. I am at the end of my rope with this.

Any suggestions out there?

Thanks,

John

Hi DiGster71,

Thanks for reaching out using Apple Support Communities. Here to help.

We understand you are having trouble gaining access to News+ on your MacBook Pro, that it is asking you to sign up for a trial even though you are already subscribed.

What we know for sure is that iTunes does not allow multiple subscriptions for the same service on a single Apple ID. If you were to follow the prompt to sign up for a trial and sign in here, the News+ app will detect your existing subscription and should proceed to provide you access to the subscription services. The button to start a trial also works to restore an existing subscription to a new device.

Hope this helps! Feel free to let us know how this goes.

Take care for now.
