Why is Notes murdering my battery?
Just having the application open always drains the battery by an astounding amount (66.7 energy impact, 44.08 12 hr power).

Try disabling Notes from iCloud usages in System preferences >> iCloud. Restart computer and re-Enable Notes again. Trying to force a re-sync of Notes.
If above, failed, perform the same again only restart in Safe Mode and test. Safe Mode will do a repair Disk, clear cache files and only load Apple Software, extensions and fonts so - loads slowly - Normal.
