Apple music stops playing music after 15 seconds.

Hey, I read somewhere to log out of your apple ID and log back in; I did it and it worked like a charm.

It looks like Apple released iOS 14.7 today and one of the bug fixes indicated is "Dolby Atmos and Apple Music Lossless audio playback may unexpectedly stop"

Hopefully this update resolves the problem we've all been having.

I've had this problem too ever since I downloaded the songs in Dolby Atmos/Lossless. It would not play when the song reaches 15 seconds. I would always go out with my Cellular on just to keep the music going. It's totally pointless to "download" them for "offline" listening when you have to have internet connection to play them on the go.

Looks like the DRM on the Lossless files is stopping all offline playback. I found this infuriating for the last week, as I took the kids on a camp trip and relied on my iPhone with all my downloaded music to cover me for the week (no connectivity at all where we were).

No such luck. :(

All the Lossless Audio files stopped at 15 seconds, and caused the Music App to lock up. All of the non-Lossless Audio Files worked fine. Pretty crap at the moment, and any time where you want to take music with you (like on a plane, camp trip, etc) when you have no internet at all ... Apple Music is all but useless.

Really frustrating that in this day and age, simple things like this get missed by Apple. Was there any testing with the new formats for offline use? Doesn't seem so ...

you might have to DELETE and RE DOWNLOAD all your music or at least the songs you want to listen to offline

i also turned off downloading in dolby atmos because i think that also has something to do with it

It continues to happen and seems to have gotten worse since iOS 15.1. The only potential solution I’ve found is to delete the song from my library as soon as it happens. Once I do that, it will reload and play. Sucks that I have to remove, from my library, music that I’ve purchased simply to get the songs to play on my iPhone through Apple Music. It’s also very time consuming when I choose to listen to an album, as I have to delete each individual song from my library.

I had the same issues. I restarted the phone and my car stereo and it worked ok

Done the same, useless. Disable the lossless audio then at least music plays.

14.7 fix next week.

Had the same problem. Turn off lossless audio and dolby atmos and redownload your songs. This works. Apple didn't do a good job testing its features before releasing the update :(

Just updated to iOS 14.7.1 and seems to be working.

I’ve already downloaded the songs, and have Music configured with Automatic Dolby Atmos and Loseless.

I have noticed that this issue comes up when you new music to a playlist, after it has already been download!

So maybe try making a playlist of the songs you want, download it, and don't add any new songs to that playlist.

This is not a solution, but can be a temporary fix until apple fixes the bug.

I’ve found a solution that worked for me (I have an iPhone 8)!

This should hopefully work for you, as long as you’re okay with not having the Dolby Atmos feature (in my opinion, it doesn’t really make that much of a difference).

First, make sure that all of the switches shown in the photo are turned off!

Then, re-download your music (only the newer songs that were downloaded while Dolby Atmos was enabled. Since it is a new feature, it shouldn’t be that many songs hopefully)!
