Apple music stops playing music after 15 seconds.

After a new software update, apple music began to lag. Songs from the library that I downloaded to downloads to listen to offline do not play completely. The problem is that when I listen to downloaded music without the Internet, it plays no more than 15 seconds. Then it stops. For this month I have not yet used the application normally ... I tried to delete all downloads and install again but it doesn’t work.

Seeing that this got reported about 500 times before, it's probably on Apple's end, dont you think? Can you let them know?

I had to call 3 times with apple support, and still got this problem...

==> My conclusion: It's a bug.

It's really annoying me and I'm concidering subscribing to spotify, as are a lot of other Applemusic subscribers.

I didn't try on cellular, its only on downloaded content, it happens with headphones (beats solo pro) and I'm on 14.6

I‘m having the same problem. I play a song, and it goes for a good 15 seconds – and those are a good 15 seconds – but then it stops, and I can’t get it to start again.

I‘ve noticed as well, after doing some investigation, this only happens to songs which have Dolby Atmos (at least for me). Songs without Dolby Atmos or only Lossless are fine.

Haven‘t investigated if this is only an issue on my iPad Air 4.

Happens on Wi-Fi (unable to check with cellular data on iPad Air 4).

Occurs with both downloaded and streaming content.

Happens both with and without headphones.

Happening with my iPad Air 4 with IOS 14.6.

ONLY HAPPENS when playing Dolby Atmos certified music.

I have the same issue. It's frustrating to remove downloaded contents and redownload it all over again.

Main device is iPhone XS (iOS 14.6), also using airpods pro. No issues with wifi streaming, just on downloaded music for offline use.

My subscription's gonna autorenew this 10th. Im considering to switch to spotify over this bug. :(

Same here. IOS 14.6 + iPhone11.

Tried also everything. No probs when online on WIFI. Offline + CarPlay > only 15 secs of every song.

BUT.

The strange thing is that when you do at home a download and you go on the road offline the new downloads are playing !!! So a new playlist or album is OK.

The next day? Same 15sec issue.....

?????

I also got this problem. For me each music that I purchased in itune have this problem. I think this problem cause by different sound quality on itune and apple music. Actually they should split each version of sound quality and let user choose which version that they want to play or download. Apple music try to make everything easy but the application is not smart enough. This bug is most stupid bug that cause by app designers.

Still having the same issue on Iphone 12 Pro Max since downloading all songs in Lossless-High Quality/Dolby Atmos Automatic. Songs stop playing after 15 seconds for more recently released songs but not all songs. Although the songs just stop, the music app has not actually paused the song and the song appears to still be playing as if trying to load the song. You cannot fast forward the song beyond 15s without it skipping the song.

I was not having issues with Dolby Atmos songs on my Iphone XS Max but Lossless was not enabled on that phone. Going back to the Iphone XS Max and enabling Lossless-High Quality, I am having no issues yet and the downloads appear to be playing fine. When redownloading a problem song in the same quality that would not play on the Iphone 12 Pro Max , it appears to play fine with or without wifi/cellular. Very strange issue but still an issue as I obviously want to use my upgraded device.

Turn off lossless is not solution if do so just go for Spotify it cheaper and not mass with your iTune playlist/purchase. I just bought high-res DAC and lossless earbud for highest quality sound. I figure that the problem happen because the conflict between low-res sound on iTune and lossless sound on Apple Music. Music app try to get DRM from the iTune purchase while the songs on iTune is low-res after play 15 sec(fix time) the application forge stop due to DRM protect. This is absolute bug. After I call for support look like the still not figure this problems. Honestly i must say that every time Apple Music try to move forward their competitors in this business they always step on their own foot and continue make mistake, I used to subscribe the Apple Music very long time ago while it just start that time it mass with my Playlist and continue duplicate the music on every playlists. Now I back to use it and face 15 sec stop play... I should ask Apple that "DO YOU REALLY SERIOUS ON THIS BUSINESS?" . Does anyone in Apple Music team test the service before launch????

I am having the exact same problem. I quick Google search sent me to this very popular topic, so this is obviously a common problem. I tried every possible solution suggested on this thread and the problem remains. I have switched back to Spotify for the time being. Pretty annoying because I had recently committed to permanently switching the Apple Music.

Hello,

I had a similar issue (iPhone 12 pro, iOS 14.6) and this is how i solved it:

open settings

click on your picture/name on the top to open your apple ID

click on Media and Purchases.

click on sign out (Heads up: this will sign you out from media services such as apple music, news, etc. and also will delete all the already downloaded music)

sign back in with your apple ID

restart your phone

Head to apple music, and re-download the songs you wanted.

My lossless songs would only play for 15 seconds in offline mode, after this it was fixed.

hope this helps,

Bests
